Even in rainy weather, the newly-developed solar street lights can light up for more than 5 days. Yesterday, Shunde private company Jiaxin Lighting invested 20 million yuan in collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Sciences to establish a joint research and development center for solar lighting technology. The two sides will focus on the key technologies of photovoltaic power generation to enable intelligent control of solar street lights.
It is reported that, unlike ordinary solar street lights, the “Intelligent Control Circuit” system developed by Jiaxin Lighting in the Academy of Sciences through the switch device can automatically adjust the brightness according to the sky brightness within 24 hours a day and the individual needs in various environments. At the same time, the system can also allocate the proportion of solar battery power used for lighting and storage, and then classify and discharge according to the brightness of street lamps to ensure that the street lights are full of battery power in sunny days and can be used on rainy days without wasting , and thus more energy-efficient.
According to the person in charge of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the current maximum utilization rate of solar cells is about 80%. After optimization of MPPT, the “maximum power point tracking” technology, the utilization rate can reach 95% or more. For example, when a solar table lamp is charged for one day, it can usually be turned on for 6 or 7 hours. After adopting a new technology, the time for turning on the solar table lamp can reach 15 hours or more. According to this principle, the solar street lights developed by Jiaxin Lighting and the Chinese Academy of Sciences can generally be used for three to five days in rainy weather.
