The solar lights on the new campus of Zhenhai City are divided into two types: lawn lamp with 300 inches and 0.6 meters in height and street lamp with 40 feet and 6 meters in height. According to the reporter’s understanding, this solar LED lamp was developed by several colleges and universities within the United Nations Academy of Telecommunications Academy teachers. With the help of the college, the teachers also set up a new energy company to realize the “production, learning, and research”. . Yang Chaoyi, a college senior, is already an employee of the company and has become a technical expert. Professor Wang said that last year, their solar lighting systems reported seven national patents, of which two have been approved and two other preliminary examinations have been passed.
Compared with ordinary street lamps, solar lights do not use electricity, no need to dig buried wires, and install “just like radishes, digging a pit and putting it in.” Professor Wang said that the 340 lamps of Zhenhai New Campus have different voltages. It is a direct current of 4 volts and 12 volts. It will not get electric shock and it is very safe.
Solar light is very "power", 30-watt LED lamp brightness equivalent to 100-watt ordinary street lamp. Because it does not use electricity, it is the "master" of energy conservation and emission reduction. Professor Wang said that 100 sets of ordinary 300W municipal road lighting street lamps consume 10 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per 10 hours in a 10-hour period, and convert into CO2 emissions of 1,078 tons. With solar lights, it's all over the province.
According to Professor Wang’s calculations, the 340-inch size solar lamp on the Zhenhai New Campus will save as much as 70 tons of CO2 emissions a year.
Although the initial investment, solar lights cost more than ordinary street lights, but if used in 10 years, the total cost can save 30% to 50%, but also reduce energy pollution.
